Simple but functional
Mons is a solid wood wall-mounted coat rack designed by Havune for use throughout the home. It is crafted from oak, walnut, pine or ash and finished with a matt clear hardwax oil.
Mons takes its distinctive form from four hand-shaped peaks that rise across the wall like a small mountain range. The design is understated yet recognisably original, making it a striking interior detail even when no coats are hanging from it.
The coat rack works well in an entrance hall, sauna changing room, children’s room or studio. Towels, coats, bags and summer hats all find a natural place on it.

Unlike plastic or metal alternatives, a solid wood coat rack ages beautifully and feels pleasant to the touch. The matt clear hardwax oil protects the timber, enhances its natural grain and also performs well in humid spaces. The surface is easy to maintain yourself when needed.
Mons is fixed to the wall with a sturdy screw mounting, allowing it to carry everyday loads from winter coats to bags reliably year after year.

[ Joonas Sauvula ]
I grew up close to nature in Kalajoki, surrounded by skilled Ostrobothnian craftspeople. Woodworking has been part of my life since I was young, and part of my family history for even longer: my great-grandfather made furniture, handcrafted objects and violins. That same need to turn ideas into tangible objects eventually led me to establish Havune in 2019.
Today, I design and craft solid wood furniture at the Havune workshop in Lakiala, Ylöjärvi. Precise craftsmanship and visual details continue to be deeply rewarding to me. While tradition matters, I also follow contemporary interiors with curiosity. I believe even simple everyday objects, such as the Mons coat rack, should have the presence to become part of the interior without ever losing sight of their function.
