Ordering bespoke furniture can feel like a big decision, and rightly so: these are pieces designed to last from one generation to the next, true heirloom furniture. The good news is that the ordering process itself has been made as straightforward as possible.

Bespoke furniture means that each piece is designed and made specifically for your home: in the right dimensions, from the right timber species and with a look that feels like yours. The design is always developed together with you, using high-quality materials selected to stand the test of time.

Havune is a furniture maker and furniture designer based in Ylöjärvi, specialising in bespoke solid wood furniture such as dining tables, chairs and cabinets, made to suit each home and its individual requirements. Every piece is designed together with you and crafted from high-quality materials chosen for longevity.

Solid wood is beautiful, durable and made to age well. With proper care, a solid wood piece only gains character over the years. We use responsibly sourced timber and finish our furniture with natural hardwax oils. The result is a piece that feels at home, not something selected from a catalogue, but furniture made specifically for your needs.

The ordering process step by step

Getting in touch

Everything begins with an enquiry. Tell us what kind of piece you have in mind, whether it is a dining table large enough for the whole family or a cabinet designed for a particular corner of the room. Whatever your idea, feel free to get in touch. We aim to respond to enquiries the same day so we can get the process moving quickly.

Design consultation

This is the heart of the collaboration. Together we go through the overall concept and the details of the piece: dimensions, timber species, form and finish. I listen carefully, because the best result comes from understanding how the furniture will be used and the kind of home it is being made for. Based on this design consultation, we prepare a quotation for you.

Order confirmation

Once the quotation has been accepted, your piece is added to the production schedule and the work can begin. At this stage, we send an advance invoice for 40% of the total price. After confirmation, the design moves from drawing board to hands-on craftsmanship.

Crafting your furniture

Your furniture is now crafted in the Havune workshop in the countryside of Ylöjärvi. Much of the work is carried out using traditional furniture-making techniques, and the workshop machinery runs on renewable electricity generated by our solar panels. Lead time is typically 4–16 weeks, depending on the piece and the current workload. If you like, you can follow the progress of your piece on our Instagram.

Delivery to your home

Once the piece is finished, we arrange delivery. Local deliveries can be made with Havune’s electric van and carried into your home, while deliveries to more distant locations are handled by Matkahuolto or Posti freight services. An estimated delivery week is provided during the design consultation, and the exact delivery date is agreed with you in advance. This way, the finished piece arrives when it suits you.

Final invoice

After delivery, we send the final invoice for the remaining 60% of the purchase price. With that, our project together is complete, and your home has gained a piece of furniture around which new memories can be made for years to come.

We make our furniture from solid wood, most commonly oak, ash and walnut. Some pieces are also available in pine. During the design consultation, we go through suitable timber species and tones together so the finished piece complements your home.

Yes. That is exactly the point of bespoke furniture. The dimensions, form, leg design and finish are tailored to your requirements. Many pieces in our collections have developed in exactly this way, adapted from a customer’s wishes into something individual.

The order is invoiced in two instalments: a 40% advance invoice is issued upon order confirmation, once the plans are complete and the project enters the production schedule. The remaining 60% is invoiced after delivery. The payment term is 14 days.

Hardwax-oiled surfaces should be maintained from time to time to keep the furniture protected and looking its best. We provide care instructions with your delivery and are always happy to advise you later if you have any questions.
