Joonas on tehnyt puutöitä niin pitkään kuin muistaa. Puu on ollut käsissä jo lapsena — ensin pieniä projekteja, sitten yhä isompia, ja jossain matkan varrella siitä tuli enemmän kuin harrastus. Moni löytää puutyöt aikuisena uuden uran tai vastapainon muodossa; Joonakselle ne eivät ole koskaan olleet erillinen asia, vaan punainen lanka, joka on kulkenut mukana koko ajan.
Havune syntyi unelmasta tehdä omia tuotteita omalla tavalla. Ei valmistaa kenen tahansa piirustusten mukaan, vaan suunnitella ja rakentaa kalusteita, joiden takana seisoo itse.
